Assistant Controller Position – Frozen Seafood Industry

Our company, founded in 1969, is a well-established leader in the frozen seafood sector. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team. This pivotal role involves overseeing full-cycle accounting, payroll, tax filings, and financial reporting, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage full-cycle accounting, including general ledger maintenance and internal audits.

Process payroll and handle related tax remittances.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.

Prepare financial statements and management reports.

Coordinate year-end reporting with external accountants.

Maintain and troubleshoot accounting software.

Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations, and liaise with financial institutions.

Ensure accurate and timely tax filings (GST, PST, WCB, etc.).

Qualifications:

Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with a focus on full-cycle accounting.

Proficiency in accounting software (knowledge of Distrib-u-tec is an asset).

Familiarity with payroll and tax remittance processes.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external partners.

Must be proficient in MS office, Outlook and Internet browsing.

Must be fluent in spoken & written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin).
